You may be familiar with a sprinkler system or maybe you have one yourself, but did you know there are five different components that all work together to keep your garden sprinkler system working? Read on to learn about the five different components and what they do.
First, water flows through your mainline from your well or city water tank to your backflow preventer to prevent contaminated water from getting into your drinking water.
After the backflow preventer, water travels through your pipes to the valves. The valves are controlled by the timer which tells the valves when to open.
Once the timer tells the valves to open, water is released through your pipes to the sprinkler heads, and your sprinkler system is active. When the timer is done, the valves close, and water is no longer flowing through sprinkler heads.
A garden sprinkler system has a lot of components, so if you run into any issues it can be very difficult to diagnose and repair yourself. Luckily expert plumbers fully understand how your system works and are available to help!
