In periods of rainfall, gutters perform the important job of helping to direct water away from building structures and helping prevent flooding. When they become damaged or clogged by obstructive materials, the need for a replacement arises. The YouTube video “How to Install a Seamless Gutter” demonstrates how this can be carried out without the need of a professional.
Using a ladder for support, the first step is to talk the downspouts off. The next step is to take the gutter brackets off using a pneumatic drill.
Once the screws holding the brackets are removed, the brackets become wobbly and easy to remove. Use the old gutter to mark the positions of the rafter tails on the new seamless gutters. After marking the positions, use a drill to create holes in the positions marked on the new gutter.
A transition should also be attached to the downspout at the end of the gutter. A hole in the gutter must be drilled for the transition to fit in, and a sealant should be used to hold the transition in place. Finally, the new gutter should be reattached by screwing the brackets and downspouts back in. Once this is done, your new gutter is ready to function properly.
