If you find yourself in need of a roof repair, you are probably stressed and frustrated enough without starting the process of finding a roof contractor. Choosing a roof contractor doesn’t have to be difficult, keep reading to find out what questions you should ask a roof contractor before hiring them.
First, ask for a copy of their insurance. This is a great way to sort through roofers.
Quality roofers will have insurance and have no problem with showing you a copy, if a roofer is not insured or won’t show you a copy of their insurance, you should not hire them.
Second, ask for referrals. A roofer should be happy to provide you with a list of customers they have done work for in the past. If you use a local roofer, you may even be able to drive down the street and see the work they have done. If a roofer can’t or won’t show you a referral list, pick a different roofer.
Third, ask if they are licensed. It is necessary for roofers to be licensed to be able to pull the proper paperwork and permits for your roofing job. If they are not licensed or will not show proof that they are, do not hire them.
